New Statement of Investment Principles & Stewardship Policy

The Statement of Investment Principles (SIP) for the Fund has been reviewed and updated to reflect recent changes to the investment strategy. The Fund’s Stewardship Policy has also been reviewed and the latest version is appended to the SIP.

Annual inflation figures confirmed

The annual increases in the RPI and CPI for the 12 months to 30 September 2023 have been published by the Office for National Statistics.

Premier now part of Isio

As previously noted, Premier, the administrators of the Fund on behalf of the Trustee, was recently acquired by Isio. Members of the Fund should now have received a letter from Isio confirming that from 1 October 2023 when receiving any communication regarding pension benefits, it will be from Isio. Further update on the Administration service following the transition to Premier

Further update on Capita’s cyber incident

This update follows our update on 8 June. As noted in previous updates, Capita experienced a cyber incident earlier this year which resulted in personal data being exfiltrated from their servers. Administration service following the transition to Premier

Unfortunately, we understand that in the initial period following the transition, some members have experienced some difficulties and delays with the administration service being provided by Premier. We would like to apologise for this, and to reassure you that providing a high-quality service to members is a priority. We are confident that the transition will improve member experience in the longer term and would ask you to bear with us, and Premier, particularly for non-urgent queries, whilst we resolve the remaining issues.

Further update on change of Administrator

This update follows our previous communication on 23 May 2023. The transfer of administration services from Capita Pensions Solutions Ltd. (“Capita”) to Premier Pensions Management Ltd (‘’Premier’’), part of the Isio Group took place on 1 June 2023. You should have now received your welcome letter from Premier providing details on their service, how to contact them and how to activate your MyPensionTracker account, Premier’s online portal.

Further update on Capita’s cyber incident

This update follows our update on 25 May 2023. We have been working closely with Capita to identify members whose personal data may have been accessed as part of the Capita cyber incident. Letters will be sent out by Capita to all identified members.  The letter will set out details of further support which will include access to a leading fraud monitoring service to alert you to any suspicious activity linked to your data.  We will update the website once these letters have been issued.

Important update on Capita’s cyber incident

Capita currently provide administration services to the Reuters Pension Fund (“RPF”). As noted in previous updates, Capita recently experienced a cyber incident which resulted in limited data exfiltration from their servers. Unfortunately, we recently received confirmation that some RPF data may have been accessed as a result of the cyber incident. Our present understanding is that the impacted data relates to active pensioners and not deferred pensioners.

Change of Administrator

As previously communicated, the Trustee undertook a review of the Fund’s administration services and last year decided to move from Capita Pensions Solutions Ltd. (“Capita”) to Premier Pensions Management Ltd (‘’Premier’’), part of the Isio Group, as the new administrator of the Reuters Pension Fund.

We continue to work with Capita in relation to this incident. We are not aware that any RPF scheme data has been compromised but are liaising with Capita to confirm that this is the case.

Capita cyber incident

We apologise to any members who experienced difficulties contacting the Capita help desk or Hartlink on Friday.  This was because of a cyber incident that affected Capita's computer systems. UK Spring Budget 2023 – Pension changes

The Spring UK Budget included several important changes to pensions.  In particular it announced changes to the Annual Allowance (AA) and the Lifetime Allowance (LTA).  If you think you are affected by these changes then you may want to take advice depending on your individual situation. Normal Minimum Pension Age (NMPA) to change

The Normal Minimum Pension Age (NMPA) is rising from age 55 to age 57 with effect from 6 April 2028. This is the minimum age, as set out by legislation, at which someone can start taking benefits from a workplace or personal pension scheme without incurring an unauthorised payments tax charge. It does not apply to those retiring on grounds of ill-health.
